HighLights: Brazil Vs Netherlands: 0-3

Short of confidence Brazil continue to falter against the enterprising Netherlands. Brazil as a team showed how absence of 1-2 major player changes the complexion of the game. Less said about this game the better it is.

Thursday, July 10, 2014

HighLights: Argentina Vs Netherlands: 0-0: (4-2)

The stars were shackled with defense taking center stage . Hard to pick up the team which played better. In the end the coin toss of penalty was the decider.

HighLights: Brazil Vs Germany : 1-7

It was just unbelievable what transpired on the pitch. Germany just steamrolled their opponent and looked likely to score whenever they moved forward. I have actually no words to describe anything which happened for that 90 minutes. I guess it was an aberration.

HighLights: Netherlands Vs Costa Rica: 0-0: 4-3

Netherlands clearly dominant but Costa Rica had their moment which they should have grabbed and their game plan seemed to desire penalties. They sat back so much that their was hardly any chances and when they did make an effort it was too late. Another example of the mistake by a lower ranked team of not pressing forward. In the end a heartbreak.

HighLights: Argentina Vs Belgium: 1-0

Higuain finally came good with Belgium totally outclassed. Argentina showed they can defend.

HighLights: Brazil Vs Columbia: 2-1

Heart Break for Columbia. Brazil played the anti Brazilian game of pathetic tackles but the referee had a different idea of keeping the cards in the pocket. End result Brazil lost her talismanic striker Neymar to one of such tackles. To be fair Columbian tackles began much after Brazilians.  Another mistake by one of the unfancied team was to sit back more than they do generally.

HighLights: France Vs Germany: 0-1

A very boring game (probably the most boring match of the World Cup) with Germans an outright winner. France seemed to have lost her MOJO and the absence of flair was clearly visible.

Bikinis

Lets make it full and final. Lets us all wear clothes which covers us from head and toe. After all we have chosen you to lead us

Wednesday, July 02, 2014

DressCode

Why should you wear short dresses? Totally agreed.

HighLights: Belgium Vs USA: 2-1

What a game, What a game, What a game. The extra time was an example of human limits to its extreme. With two overworked team giving it all. Tim Howard kept USA in with a chance by seeing the ball bigger than what it is. Ideally USA should have won with the amazing opportunity at the fag end of full time, but those are ifs and buts. They should have also stayed in the game in their superb last ditch efforts including a clever free kick. USA fought like a gladiator and unfortunately for them their was no theatrically happy ending.  Full marks to Belgium for tirelessly pressing on. In the end nature of sports calls for a winner and life seems too cruel, which seems to have become the norm of this world cup.

HighLights: Argentina Vs Switzerland: 1-0

A last minute mistake, Messi and Maria did what was denied by Switzerland for almost 2 halfs of regular and extra time. An amazing marking of Messi and a pole width was the distance between a loss and penalty shoot out for Switzerland. Phewww what a match

Monday, June 30, 2014

HighLights: France Vs Nigeria: 2-0

A not so intense game with Nigeria not playing so brave in-spite of their keepers bravery (or the mistake). A grave mistake every so called minnows are making is not taking the so called by horn. Sitting back doesn't help to an extent it can be said that they are themselves to blame.

HighLights: Germany Vs Algeria: 2-1

A good game with Algerians standing tall. The scoreline may suggest a goal fest but all happened in extra time with an edge of seat experience for both the fans. Great saves by the Algerian keeper.

HighLights: Costa Rica Vs Greece: 1-1: (5-3)

Didnt expect the match to go down to wire even with Greece historic and expected stout defending. At least a team scored all their penalties. Greece almost made it only to be denied by Keylor Nava. A chance missed by Greece to overwhelm 10 man opponent, a probable downside of being too defensive is to be unable to take advantage of the such opportunities.

HighLights: Netherlands Vs Mexico: 2-1

Fate is cruel and the Mexican might have realized it today with higher power somehow always supporting the diver (Robben) graduated from the best acting school of the world. I wonder why officials dont show him the yellow card.

Sunday, June 29, 2014

HighLights: Columbia Vs Uruguay: 2-0

The dancing shoes of the world cup has done it again overwhelming a desperately out of sorts Uruguay in the absence of her every so hungry striker Suarez. A commendable job the Columbian goalkeeper and Rodriguez what a magical unbelievable strike.

HighLights: Brazil Vs Chile: 1-1(3-2)

Heartbreak of Chilean fans, denied by the woodwork. They so much deserved to win with a gallant display of pristine football on field. Brazil looks vulnerable. The very first match of RoundOf16 going to shootout, this world cup is definitely more exciting than the other

Mumbai

Do Mumbaikars pay double ahemmm triple for there commute.

HighLights: Belgium Vs Korea: 1-0

With Korea only happening  to qualify if they were super humans, Belgium managed to thwart it by a 10 man win. Belgium are looking solid as a team

HighLights: Algeria Vs Russia: 1-1

Russia what did you do. You had a chance but you let it pass, with Algerians doing very well in erasing first goal deficit, with help from another mistake from the goal keeper (such a shame that he was blinded by laser. How unsporting). For this behavior I wish Algerians go out in next round.

HighLights: Portugal Vs Ghana: 2-1

A match of missed chances with the biggest looser being Ghana. Ghana goalkeeper and defense made good saves but when they were unable to take advantage of clear open nets, the result would be what it is. Portugal who else but you need to rue Pepe's red card and big goal difference

HighLights: Germany Vs USA: 1-0

A good result for both teams with both looking circumspect but pushing for a win. People from USA must definitely have no more nails , I hope the fingers still remain, what a relief when the God of results favored them.

Diabetes

Interesting technique to reduce diabetes. Increase you know what.

HighLights: Switzerland Vs Honduras: 3-0

The onus was on Switzerland against probably the weakest team in the group and did they lived up to the expectation. Hats off to hat-trick hero Shaqiri

HighLights: France Vs Ecuador: 0-0

It seems France did not wanted to score at all, with the amount of chances created by them especially Pogba. I wonder what was Ecuador thinking.

HighLights: Bosnia and Herzegovina Vs Iran: 3-1

Dzeko came good but too late in the tournament and Irans defensive mindset which brought them applauds in the previous game was the reason for their failure. Iran, you clearly missed the point.

HighLights: Argentina Vs Nigeria: 3-2

It was fun filled game, with Musa and who else but Messi scoring a brace. It was a match played in good spirits and the result would make both the teams happy

Gas

Nature of Gas is brings in affinity of it to go up. Irony is vociferous protest previously cannot be done away with a sheepish smile

HighLights: Japan Vs Columbia: 1-4

The scoreline may not suggest how well Japan played led by Hondo. It was only the second half injunction of fresh legs and against the run of play Columbia managed to dominate. Samurai's would rue the missed chances

HighLights: Greece Vs Ivory Coast: 2-1

Ivory Coast once again flattered to deceive and they are themselves to blame in every aspect. Probably they were playing for a draw which they almost till the last minute controversial penalty. They should not feel cheated (even though they might think they have a right), they should only blame themselves

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

HighLights: Italy Vs Uruguay: 0-1

I officially declare Suarez to be a cannibal, he eats human food to pass of as a human. A referee help for Uruguay, a harsh red card. The game in which players were more on ground clutching their knees even though the scoreline was 0-0, a shame. I wont be surprised if the Italians feel robbed.

HighLights: England Vs Costa Rica: 0-0

A dead game of a dead rubber. The onus was on you England and again you flatter to deceive to give your own home fans another one of the dismal result. In your defense you should have got a penalty

HighLights: Mexico Vs Croatia: 3-1

All the goals were reserved for the last quarter of the match with full marks to Mexico for the result. One just wonders what would have happened if Croatia wouldn't have been so robbed in their first game against Brazil

HighLights: Netherlands Vs Chile: 2-0

With Sanchez shining, Netherlands still overwhelmed Chile having a few close calls going fortunately in their favor. This match reminded me of why Robben is most effective foul creator when he skillfully goes on ground to earn a free kick. Just because of this, I wish Netherlands lose in the upcoming rounds.

HighLights: Brazil Vs Cameroon: 4-1

Cameroon never brought their A++ game to the world cup having being steamrolled by Brazil in their last match. One did expect better from them

HighLights: Spain Vs Australia : 3-0

An inconsequential match with Australia leaving behind the gumption they had shown in the previous match. Villa had to be the scorer but at the end one could do nothing but feel for them

Whats a loss of freedom

An awesome take on freedom by livemint. Whats an issue in loss of it.

Funding

Oh funds from abroad is evil, well.. ahemm.. dont we also get it.. aah.. who cares as long as the propaganda works

HighLights: USA Vs Portugal: 2-2

USA played awesome and Portugal was very very very very fortunate to have the draw keeping the group wide open

HighLights: Algeria Vs Korea: 4-2

Algeria steam rolled Korea in the first half itself. It was a boring game in-spite of so many goals. Korea turning out to be one of the weakest team of the tournament

HighLights: Belgium Vs Russia: 1-0

Belgium as a team is growing on me each match, with Hazard living up to the bill. Russia almost did it

Sunday, June 22, 2014

Peace

Peace if green not paper greed (oops green) should be officially ostracized.

HighLights: Nigeria Vs Bosnia and Herzegovina: 1-0

A bad decision by the officials could lead to a heartbreak. A good open match with a not so reflective scoreline. Dzeko should have been given the goal.

HighLights: Germany Vs Ghana: 2-2

A fast paced second half. There was no reason why one team shouldn't have been victorious just hard to pick which one. Well played Ghana.

Saturday, June 21, 2014

HighLights: Argentina Vs Iran: 1-0

A fortress won and it had to be Messi. Well played Iran.

Finger

Point one finger, the other four points back at you, now we may say its slip of tongue on international borders

HighLights: Ecuador Vs Honduras : 2-1

Good result for Ecuador , with skillful Valencia seemingly unstoppable.

HighLights: France Vs Switzerland: 5-2

Another goal fest, Switzerland was overwhelmed by history and name instead of playing opponent on that day committing mistakes which had to result in such a result.

Friday, June 20, 2014

HighLights: Italy Vs Costa Rica: 1-0

Balotelli shot from mouth for the Queens kiss, but could not shoot in the goal and the Italians were more off side than 2 teams together in a single match. Hats off to Costa Rica. This world cup is gonna be a teams game

Revelation

Revelation of details is a double edged sword, better to seek for it than actually do it

HighLights: Japan Vs Greece: 0-0

Greece can have the same scoreline with 1 man in defence

HighLights: Uruguay Vs England: 2-1

The ghost of Rooney laid to rest, the talismanic Suarez back, with England again on losing side in-spite of playing well

HighLights: Columbia Vs Ivory Coast: 2-1

The second half was brought to life. I still dont understand the logic of keeping Drogba on bench.

Thursday, June 19, 2014

Highlights: Cameroon Vs Croatia : 0-4

Some people have a self destruct button. And with them goes down the ship. Song sang a different tune , which crushed the nation overrun by the ever so dashing Croats

HighLights: Spain Vs Chile: 0-2

An era overcame, the giant fallen. The lonely figure of Villa said it all. They tried hard, they were faster then they usually are but I guess it was not meant to be. Hats off to Chile but even more so to the Spaniards who almost proved they had perfected the game only for the game to have outrun them this time

HighLights: Netherlands Vs Australia: 3-2

Sometimes the scoreline does not reflect who you support at the end of the game. Such was the ferocity and play of the Australians that one had to give them an ovation at the end, only if they had converted all the chances

Onion Cry

What Goes Around Comes Around: Irony of protest for Onions

HighLights: Argentina vs Bosnia and Herzegovina :2-1

Magician at work with listless football overall

HighLights: France Vs Honduras: 3-0

One man down , game was well decided

Highlights: Switzerland Vs Ecuador : 2-1

A game of rear guard action where one heart was going to get broken

HighLights: Ivory Coast Vs Japan: 2-1

A good game re confirming the presence and influence of Drogba

HighLights: Italy Vs England : 2-1

Sometimes one feels for England. They play bad they lose, They play good they lose

HighLights: Uruguay Vs Costa Rica : 1-3

To me a well deserved upset especially from a team who I was fan of last world cup (more so of Forlan)

HighLights: Columbia Vs Greece : 3 -0

The first goal did open up the game which was expected to be defensive masterclass

Crime

Is there any category of the same crime

HighLights - Chile Vs Australia: 3-1

What were the Australians sitting back for. This Group just became interesting

Highlight - Spain Vs Netherlands : 1-5

In simple language who would have expected such a score line with Robben making a mockery of Casillas in his second goal. It was not even funny even for me who was a big supporter of ORANGE last world cup.
