Bekhauff - Satyamev Jayate

Satyamev Jayate being an Indian series hosted by actor Aamir Khan has a type of genuineness to it in spite of its bollywood host. This song atypical of a rendition in each of its episodes gives me goosebumps, anger, sadness with a moving message

Deewarein oonchi hai, galiyaan hai tang
Lambi dagar hai par himmat hai sang
Paaon pe chhaale hai, saansein buland
Ladne chali hoon aazaadi ki jung

Bekhauf aazaad hai jeena mujhe
Bekhauf aazaad hai rehna mujhe
Bekhauf aazaad hai jeena mujhe
Bekhauf aazaad hai rehna mujhe

Reeti ki zanjeere kha gayi zang
Nyaay ke mandir bhi ho gaye bhang
Zamaana chale na chale mere sang
Bolungi halla, awaaz dabangg

Bekhauff azaad hai kehna mujhe
Bekhauff azaad hai rehna mujhe
Bekhauff azaad hai kehna mujhe
Bekhauff azaad hai rehna mujhe

Chotein jism par marham umang
Laash nahi hoon mann zinda patang
Dil mein ummeedein or khushiyon ke rang
Har aansu banega ik nayi tarang

Haan.. bekhauf azaad hai behna hai mujhe
Bekhauff azaad hai rehna mujhe
Bekhauff azaad hai behna hai mujhe
Bekhauff azaad hai rehna mujhe

Deewarein oonchi hain, galiyaan hain tang
Lambi dagar hai par himmat hai sang
Paaon pe chhaale hai, saansein buland
Ladne chali hoon aazaadi ki jung

Bekhof azaad hai jeena mujhe
Bekhof azaad hai rehna mujhe
Bekhof azaad hai jeena mujhe
Bekhof azaad hai rehna mujhe

So Much Time == So Less Time

As I lived the first official day of my second attempt at the entrepreneur journey, ironically it has given me time to reflect instead of taking it way.  The only difference I find is time flies faster than expected but I could independently choose what to do with the limited number of hours available. I get the feeling I have been unable to create enough but at the same time concentrate on lifestyle which is considered to be good like working on physical standing, reading for  intellectual and creative thinking and to spend cherish-able time with friends and family - idea-ting, discussing, enjoying. The same kind of freedom was somehow absent from my day to day life reclaiming which gives so much amount of good vibes is something which was being underplayed considerably by me. The conversion of so called work into daily fun is something unexpected but hoped and seeing it materialize into that is amazing. Hopefully these so called positive outlook remains so and keeps on increasing forever and ever. Suddenly I feel that this journey is highly recommendable and hopefully more people shall be able to experience it.

Freedom = Bill Payments

Day after day as my thoughts evolve in the world of start ups I wonder I have heard so many great ideas by so many interesting people why they never managed to hit the floor. Besides the characteristics of an entrepreneur which probably gets applied world wide, India suffers from one peculiar or not so peculiar problem. The problem of getting my bills paid. As the sea of innovative thinkers come from a background having a tricky concept of financial stability, most of us are just too afraid as the problem of bills is too tricky a problem to tackle as and when innovative thoughts kick in. Would it be easier had this problem not existed I don't know as contrarily most innovative thinking comes during time of downturns. This kind oof a push and pull is baffling but only if Bill Payment was taken care of, the freedom which most seek and because of which most gets delayed, would have been obtained, and probably then Indian start up space would have been a lot different

Be A Hoarder

Haven't  we met so many people who have the habit of collecting. These are called collectors, a likeable terminology which makes them interesting. Closer home the mostly likely collector would be your MOM. Hoarding things throughout a lifetime and she always has something handy which is available in times of creativity and need. The critique mind would say that what is the use of hoarding especially during times when living light has become a fad. Now a connection with those waves of thought has been established. Reminiscing I rue the fact that I have like so many others missed out on a golden opportunity of keeping plethora of knowledge at ones own fingertip. Years of knowledge gained and tool written after doing research for so many  hours gets lost amidst the overdose of everything around us. Would it not be nicer if we had learnt to hoard such knowledge in a place where it was easily accessible for reference . Nothing which is an IP but something which is open but still requires to be learnt. Especially during the times of BLOGS and GITS of the world, it would have been the apple which would kept us from the same effort of recall in the lifetime.

Paperwork - The Potential Opportunity

For some random reason human beings have created a psychotic obsessive fascination on paperwork. Since machines are an offshoot human imagination, it has also been well taught to generate more and more data. Was the ability to pass on stories orally an art form lost amidst the fear of losing historical civilisations. The tendency not to learn from others mistake is as natural as the animal instinct of territorial ism and fornication. We as a race have obsessed ourselves to perfection in curbing instinctive reaction with the release morphed into acceptable definition. Control is a seductive power driven us to blindness disregarding the basic essence of freedom. And all of these results in what , but of course, more and more data, more and more paperwork. Strangely all of them is an offshoot of some basic definitive tautology presented in a complicated form. Wouldn't  it be nice to have automated the very notion in order to box ourself in a very basic instinct of laziness.

Health - A Lurking Time Bomb

Some thing’s which one use to do or some activities performed regularly gets lost over a period of time. The general explanation to this phenomenon lies in the defeatist notion called time. As one becomes more worldly the Venn Diagram of available time becomes more and more complex with each passing day. The habits picked along with adulthood starts replacing the ones which contributed positively. The erroneous judgement was to give up the good old in place of the new. Is it because we being Indian generally has a tendency to over inculcate things. Nevertheless the realisation has woken me from the notion of procrastination and made me realise how much discomfort I have now with my current physical structure. With the current hopeless positive dust, the work on this highly abused structure has to be rejuvenated. Otherwise where would a healthy mind would reside if it does not get a compatible structure as its home.

TO START or NOT TO START

TO START or NOT TO START

Never been an easy desire to commit upon.
Among so many multitudes of people moving in this direction LIFE has again brought me onto the crossroads where my desire of independence is in direct conflict with the fear of failure. A choice in my younger days was much easier to make with fearlessness. A failure which was much easier to digest that what it would be today. An earned personal life at risk with so many responsibilities to be overlooked, and an added responsibility of expectation. To the people who know me professionally it will always puzzle them why I haven't undertaken the journey much earlier. What is to be gained and what is to be lost. What do I want or do not want. Or shall I be more clichéd by echoing the sentiments of every human soul at some time or the other "What is the purpose of my Life?". An answer to which is highly unlikely to come to us in a dramatic theatrical moment. Like so many other things , it is to be defined by ones own personal desire and the daring act of jumping into its imagination. So many question and so many conflicts with the glaring reality of the daily bread. Which side will I ultimately fall is the answer to be sought.

·         Go inside the directory: cd s3cmd-1.0.1
·         First time configure it: ./s3cmd –configure
o   Supply the values: access key, secret key
s3cmd mb s3://my-new-bucket-name (To Create Bucket)
·         Run the command to list the contents of your bucket: ./s3cmd ls s3://yourbucket
·         Put (write/deposit) a file as; ./s3cmd put <localfilename> s3://yourbucket/<remote-folder-optional>/<remote-file-name>

OOZIE HADOOP And STAGING DIR

For Oozie to work properly /user/<user>/.staging needs 700 as permission.
If not the silent exceptions (like local exception in oozie log and FS permission exception in name node) will possibly waist a lot of your time

GIft YourSelf A Road Mishap

Here is the ALGORITHM for getting yourself a perfect GIFT.

1) Pick out a beautiful Day for a ride. When the weather is perfect with a little rain before

2) It helps if you pick out a day after the night when you had a fight with your affable ones. (You can blame them or get enlightened of your mistake)

3) Pick out the day which is officially a holiday

4) In spite of the day being a holiday choose your destination as your office.

5) Enjoy the ride towards your office and try to filter away your negativity.

6) That's it, let the COSMOS do the rest.

:)

Not possible

Here is what will Happen

7) For a change you will enjoy the weather.

8) For a change you shall cruise

9) For a change you shall not find any traffic

10) Then you will have to halt for some bugger in front of you finds the need to do so.

11) Rest leave it to the people on your behind to not find the need to do the same

12) Now enjoy the beautiful feeling of kissing the tar.

13) Enjoy even more the feeling of nakedness of being in a tee and jeans realising the one who desired to ride over you is well dressed with jacket and gloves .

14) Enjoy the fact the day is cooler than the rest, hence intensity is more than usual.

SO ENJOY and GIFT Yourself Something Different today

Hadoop 0.21, Pig 0.7, Hive 0.4.1, Sqoop 1.10, Hadoop-LZO, Elephant-Bird

Strangely but truly a lot of time has gone by when the last official hadoop release was made.

Unfortunately Hadoop 0.21 never became an official release but a release candidate was made by Tom White and co.

Felt happy to hack my way through along with a friend to make various software work with Hadoop 0.21

1) Hive 0.4.1
https://github.com/hirohanin/hive0.4.1hadoop21

2) Sqoop 1.1.0

3) Hadoop-LZO

4) Elephant Bird

5) Pig 0.7

Disclaimer: The software are unofficial and unsupported, unless some one gives a better reason to do so.

Apache Tika

I was amazed with the kind of extraction facility has been made available in open source world. Apache Tika has has gone a long way to help developers come with better crawlers. I was happy to use it in a project

HADOOP+PIG+HIVE

Its been fun working on humongous data with an abstraction created by the realm of different projects under hadoop. PIG, HIVE being the query language which provides even better idiots layers on top it. Aspects of keeping a cluster running, with managing data sizes with various compression initially driven by LZO (elephant-bird) drifting towards block compression. Making ones life easier by using scheduler like Azkaban. Humongous data and heavy loading, thats the way to go

Murder + Capistrano

Deployments are one painful task in any production environment and it shows its ugly face in a resource heavy environment. PUPPET for OS centric deb/config could be useful. Recently got a chance to use a combo of capistrano and murder. Murder is a beautiful concept of torrent inspired production deploy and capistrano brings in the feature of other abstracted functionalities.

In the end I wonder why so many deployment tools is in RUBY or support a tool written in ruby by providing a gem of itself

Ant , Maven, Ivy

Moving from the trustworthy ant to abstracted maven. The only thing I realised, unless applied company wide maven becomes hard although its usp is well established. Time to dibble with ivy for it promises a lot with transitive dependencies.

One interesting realisation in maven that one can fake the repo if you have a local set of jars in your machine (for the jars not present in repo)

<dependency>
      <groupid>...</groupid>
      <artifactid>....</artifactid>
      <version>...</version>
      <scope>system</scope>
      <systempath>/absolute path to lib/XXX.jar</systempath>
</dependency>

And I am inclining more and more towards a combo of ant + ivy. In my view and use case and even generally it seems most promising.

JAVACC

As it turns out, I finally get to use it in a system. Not bad at all

BOAT

Some say heart is just like a wheel..
If It is so..
Then at the moment its spinning aimlessly..
Dangerously rocking the boat of my life..
Get hold of it my gravest and trustworthy captain..
Before it sinks into the oblivion of the deep blue sea..

A Moment

Strange are the ways of human thoughts..
Stranger are the illusion it creates..
The unanswered calls which puts me down..
Sometimes uplifts me with strangest hope..
Only for a moment..
But its a moment when the clock stops ticking..
The seconds between two consecutive rings..
My heart stops beating..
Where my mind tells me you picked up the call..
Ecstatic is what I am..
Happiness takes over me..
Only for a moment, If for a moment.

Only if Known was a Known

Waiting for months for a response..
Its hard to remain in a stoic pose..
Empty thoughts and empty response..
Leads one to misleading unknowns..
Never knew my wrong were so wrong..
Only if I knew the doer that doeth..
Only if the knowledge was profound...
The blindness which overwhelms..
Darkness that over cometh..
Makes the default at every moment..
Make'th the heart default with every action..
Only if the known was a KNOWN..

Where ??

My eyes seek you..
My Mind seeks you..
My soul seeks you..
I am so much over the edge..
Where are you..
Why do you run..
Why don't you communicate..

Past

Our paths diverge..
Only to converge..
In time..
Belonging to future..
But why we have to spoil..
That present which could be beautiful..
Why are we creating a past to forget..

Silent..

Silent cries..
Silent echoes..
Silent communication...
Silence for the meek..
Silence for the powerful...
Silent revenge..
Silent infliction...
In the silence...
I move...
To the silent oblivion..
To the depths of silence...
A silent cry...
with the silent echoes..

Musical Psycho

The musical Psycho is driven..
Driven to the point of obsession..
What's the point..
What's it worth..
Only catalysing to self destruction..
What shall he get for his persistence when his heart is blackened..
Either ways he stand to loose..
She had the choice to make it not so difficult..
She says no hang ups no troubles..
Then why the mountain of every reaction..
She wanted normal then why doesn't she act so..
He is troubled, he is to lose either ways..
What is he getting for his liking..
Or she simply doesn't care

Having the power to light up and pleasure

A day to remember..
A day to cherish..
A day to rejoice..
For today was the day..
When a beautiful being got created..
A person who would bring joy to so many..
A being with whom every moment is different..
Every moment is an adventure..
Come to me my lady..
For today I want to be a part which gives you the joy back..
Come and stay for you shall have the time of your life..
Come and lets run away from the things which bothers you just for the day..
For you deserved to be pampered in every way..
Happy Birth Day..
